The Museum of Making at Derby Silk Mill reopened in 2021. Derby’s Silk Mill is on the site of the world’s first factory and part of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site. Celebrating the area’s rich history of innovation, the new Museum of Making is a contemporary space telling Derby’s 300-year history of making to inspire new creativity.
